That’s some serious dough

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) – A customer at a North Carolina Krispy Kreme restaurant got something even sweeter than a dozen hot glazed: $5,000 in cash.

Multiple media outlets report that a clerk at a Krispy Kreme in Fayetteville accidentally handed over a box of doughnuts that also contained the store’s cash receipts on Friday.

Police said before taking the money to be deposited, a manager put the cash in a doughnut box as a safeguard against theft.

Fayetteville Police Sgt. Dan Grubb says the clerk didn’t know about the routine, and accidentally handed the wrong box to a customer at the drive-thru window.

Grubb says that as of Monday, no one has come forward to return the money.

Would you return the money? After all, you didn’t get your donuts…

First…what a moron for a manager. You don’t use a donut box to put the money in to hide it. You keep it in the office, in a safe until your read to count it or take it to the bank in one of those secured bank bags. Not in a donut box where other donut boxes happen to be sitting. No wonder the mix up happened.

Yes, I would return the money. In the past, when given too much change, I have always returned the money. I wouldn’t want someone to get written up or fired because their till was short. And a large amount of money like that, I would definitely return, because I know it would have been someone’s job on the line.

Besides, Karma is a bi$ch, I don’t want her around!!

I would think about keeping it for minute… before I would return it.
